The ostrich does not actually bury its head. Neither should you.

Ostrich — grant programme

$30M of Minimal, granted every year.

Ninety teams a year get the suite installed on their own hardware — Agent Studio, App Studio and Ask Studio — with $333,333 of credit loaded against the licence to spend across all three. Twelve months. No invoice at the end of it.

ApplyN.26 Read the terms

We are built on things other people gave away. Somebody else’s operating system, somebody else’s database, somebody else’s compiler, somebody else’s answer at two in the morning to a question they had no reason to answer. Ostrich is us putting something back on the stack.

01

The commitment

Each year we commit $30M of Minimal licences to 90 selected teams. The licence is on-premise: the whole suite running on machines you control, with $333,333 of credit loaded against it, free to consume over 12 months.

Nothing is charged at the end of the year. There is no card on file, no automatic conversion to a paid plan, and no clause that turns the gift into a bill.

02

What the licence carries

All three products — Agent Studio, App Studio and Ask Studio — and one pool of credit across them. Spend it wherever the work goes: an agent that runs overnight, an internal app for six people, a dashboard your operations lead can ask questions of.

No per-product allocation, and no penalty for guessing wrong about which one you would need most.

03

Who can apply

Anyone, anywhere. A registered company applies with its registration details. Everyone else — a student, two friends, one person with a weekend — applies with a proposal: what you want to build, who it is for, and what you would do with a year of it.

One application covers all three programmes — Sparrow and Pelican included. You do not choose; we read what you sent and offer whichever fits the work.

04

If more people apply than we can take

Ninety is what we can carry properly in a year. Applications past that go to a waitlist, and the waitlist is the first place we look when we find room.

From time to time we do find room, and release more licences than we planned. We will not quietly close a round and leave you refreshing a page to find out.

05

What it does not include

API Bay is not part of the Ostrich licence. Support is best-effort, through the same channels everyone else uses. The credit runs for twelve months from the day the licence is issued.

We take no equity, no revenue share and no seat at your table — not at the start, not if it works, not ever. This is a grant. The only thing we ask is that you tell someone where it came from.

Build what you came to build.
